Choosing between using the invigilatorPlus application or API

For organisations with technical staff, the API is the most efficient method of creating exams and student accounts. The application can then be used for small updates and edits.

Using the API

The entire functionality of invigilatorPlus is available via an API, which enables batch processing of data from an LMS to create exams, update settings and create student accounts. Using the API requires the skills of technical staff with the requisite understanding of API use, who also have authorised access to your LMS data, plus API permissions enabled in invigilatorPlus.

Using the application

All available functions can be performed via the invigilatorPlus application. Every function is available, but only a single instance of an exam, or student account, can be either created or edited at a time. No batch processing is available via the application. Staff require no specialised technical knowledge and should be able to learn to use the application using the articles in this Knowledge Base.
