Installing the invigilatorPlus browser extension

The first time any student uses invigilatorPlus they must install a browser extension.


invigilatorPlus operates via a native, lightweight browser extension and does not require any installation of third-party applications. 

We strongly recommend that you encourage your students to install the browser extension and run the Exam System Check prior to assessment day.


invigilatorPlus is designed to guide students step-by-step through setup until their live stream is active. 

During the system check or exam start, the platform verifies whether the extension: 

  • is installed. 
  • is the latest version, if already installed. 
If the extension is:
  • missing, the student is prompted to download and install it.
  • outdated, the student is prompted to update it.
  • present and up-to-date, the student proceeds directly to their next step. 

For students to access invigilatorPlus and run the Exam System Check, you must first ensure an LTI link to invigilatorPlus has been added to the LMS and students accounts have been created on invigilatorPlus.
