Require a second camera
Stipulate the use of an additional phone, tablet or USB camera to increase the field of view available to our invigilators.
To improve academic integrity, invigilatorPlus allows the addition of an optional second camera to increase the field of view available to our invigilators. This allows both front and side views of every student to be monitored: with the hands, computer keyboard, monitor and profile being shown via the second camera.
Either a smart phone, tablet or USB webcam may serve as a second camera. At the appropriate stage of the exam check in process, students are prompted to scan a QR code to initiate video streaming from their phone or plug in and select an additional USB webcam.
Institutions may set their preferred choice for the use of a second camera at ‘Institution’ level but vary the setting at an individual exam level, should that be required.
Exam System Check
For students to be able to run an Exam System Check that includes a phone system check, the second camera option must be enabled in the ‘Institution Details’.
Please be careful when requiring a second camera for an individual exam when the Institution default does not require a second camera. This combination of settings means that students are not able to use the invigilatorPlus Exam System Check to confirm the minimum technical requirements for their phone before they sit their exam.
