Staff account role definitions

The staff roles available in invigilatorPlus and their associated tasks.

There are two type of staff account roles available in invigilatorPlus:

  • Staff Admin
  • Staff Standard

Staff Admin

This role has permissions to perform all functions for all departments created in invigilatorPlus.

The Staff Admin role can create new staff accounts: both Staff Admin and Staff Standard accounts. 

The Staff Admin role may or may not be able to access the developer functions, enabled by checking the ‘API’ option when creating a Staff account.

Staff Standard

This role is customisable to suit the tasks and responsibilities of each staff member.

  • Staff Standard accounts can be assigned all, or a subset, of the available permissions.
  • Staff Standard accounts can be assigned all, or a subset, of the available departments.

You cannot vary the permissions for an account between its assigned departments: any permissions chosen will apply to all the departments that account is assigned to.

Permissions

Staff Admin accounts have permissions to access to all the functionality listed below. Staff Standard accounts are each customised based upon the selection from this list of functionality.

  • Academic Management (Select this to select all child permissions.)
    • Departments (Select this to select all child permissions. Deselect to select only one.)
      • Manage Departments
      • View Departments
    • Exams (Select this to select all child permissions. Deselect to select only one.)
      • Manage Exams
      • View Exams
    • Students (Select this to select all child permissions. Deselect to select only one.)
      • Manage Students
      • View Students
    • Terms (Select this to select all child permissions. Deselect to select only one.)
      • Manage Terms
      • View Terms
    • Settings (Select this to select all child permissions associated with LTIs. Deselect to select only one.)
      • Manage Settings
      • View Settings
