The hierarchy and relationships between the different elements used in invigilatorPlus
The hierarchy of elements within invigilatorPlus is:
Institution → Departments → Terms → Exams → Sub Exams
Institution is the highest-level element and represents your organisation. It is not visible anywhere, nor is it directly referred to in the invigilatorPlus application, but operates in the background as an overarching parent element.
The following points describe the basic relationships between different elements used in invigilatorPlus:
- Each Exam created in invigilatorPlus must belong to a Term and a Department.
- Departments belong to the Institution.
- Terms belong to Departments.
- A Department can have many Terms.
- A Department can have many Exams.
- A Term can have many Exams.
- An Exam can have many Students.
- A Student can have many Exams.
- An Exam can have many Sub Exams.
- Students belong to the Institution.
- Staff belong to either the Institution or to specific Departments.
- More than one Exam can run concurrently.
