Force Full Screen Mode
This feature is generally used for Closed-book Exams to prevent students referring to other browser tabs, applications, or documents on their computer during an exam.
When turned on, students can exit Full Screen Mode, should they need to do so to resolve technical problems, but doing so generates an automatic time-stamped, informational log entry that is visible to invigilators, alerting them to the change.
This setting may be toggled on or off, using the check box provided.
Disable Right Click
When turned on, this feature prevents the use of functions available through the context menu shown when right-clicking on the browser. This can minimise the chance of, but not entirely prevent, students from printing, taking screenshots, correcting spelling/grammar mistakes, looking up word definitions, copying, pasting, saving images.
This setting may be toggled on or off, using the check box provided.
Disable Copy Paste
When turned on, this feature prevents students from being able to copy or paste during the exam.
This setting may be toggled on or off, using the check box provided.
Disable Open New Tab
When turned on, this feature prevents students from using their browser to access materials other than the exam, by opening new browser tabs or windows. This setting would not be enabled when the Permitted Materials allow students to refer to other websites.
This setting may be toggled on or off, using the check box provided.
Close Exam Disconnection Time
The purpose of this setting is to monitor and manage instances where test-takers are disconnected from invigilatorPlus for an extended period.
Disconnections from invigilatorPlus may be due to a student deliberately closing the invigilatorPlus tab or turning off ‘Sharing’, or may be caused by an Internet connection dropout. Once a disconnection occurs, the Close Exam Disconnection Time starts counting down.
The setting allows a limit to be applied to the amount of time that can elapse after a disconnection before a warning is triggered to the student when they are connected to the Internet but disconnected from invigilatorPlus. If the preset Close Exam Disconnection Time expires before the student reconnects, the system automatically logs an ‘Disconnection Time Expired’ incident in the exam’s log.
The possible settings range from ‘Off’ to ‘Instant’ or can be set to a duration between 1 minutes to 10 minutes.
